I use Squirty bath toys in my swim lessons every day. Many Fun floating characters include alligator, crab, shark, duck, fish, octopus, penguin, dolphin, starfish, and turtle
Soft rubber characters squirt water when squeezed, making swim time more fun. I find that throwing and stretching toward the toys helps to improve baby’s hand-eye coordination and encourage imaginative play. Brightly colored and the perfect size for babies little hands to hold and squeeze;6 Months + / BPA Free. Each character squirts and blows bubbles under the water, helping a child to blow bubbles too. I also place them along the wall I want my students to crab walk too. Crab walking is when a child or adults use the wall to move forward using only their hands. I also throw them ahead of my students and they use their kickboard or marshmallow stick to collect all ten.
The First Years Disney Baby Bath Squirt Toys, Finding Nemo: Includes Nemo, Dory, and Turtle squirt toys, These are among my student’s favorites along with SwimWays Disney Frozen Dive Characters
Having dive toys as well as floating toys helps children learn the difference between the two. This may seem like an obvious thing, but children don’t understand depth. Going up or down, in or under. That’s a hard concept to understand when your 2 or 3 when we start teaching independent floating.

I like having enough toys for everyone, not just kids in lessons. I also like to send the toys home with my students to remind them about having lessons and practicing bubbles and putting faces in the water. When I send lifeguards to pool parties they can bring a bag of toys, goggles, and fins, for a small fee of $20. The bag I use to carry all this stuff is a plain red mesh bag with a drawstring.
On a final thought, I think kids build value in something by being responsible for it. So please encourage your young swimmer to carry his own bag with towel and toys and sunscreen and water. We need to build this connection at an early age. Being responsible for your things and you will always know where it is. I have four children and when they yell through the house, “Mom”, where is my ???? whatever, my response is usually where ever you left it, not my responsibility. Have a great day. For all things swimwear and fins I go to Swim outlet.
