I’ve been a competitive swimmer since I was nine. I was a three-time MCAL gold medalist. I also became a Junior Nationals finalist. After a break, I returned to competitive swimming at Santa Rosa Junior College. I medaled in both the 100 and 200 breast at CCCAA State Championships in 2022. I am not actively competing now. However, I continue to share my passion for the water. I teach children of all ages and levels of ability.
I have eleven years of experience as a swim instructor. I started at age fifteen with USA swimming Make A Splash programs. Since then, I have taught at the Osher Marin JCC. I also coached the San Rafael High School swim team. Now, I am in my fourth year with Miss Jean Swimming. I have a strong belief in meeting kids where they’re at. Every kid is different. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning how to swim. I keep a good balance between instruction and play in my lessons. Safety is my number one priority. Having fun is essential to successful learning. Beyond basic water safety and swim instruction, I enjoy sharing my in-depth understanding of stroke mechanics. I also share technique with students interested in competitive swimming. I have experience working with neuro divergent students. I have also worked with those with physical disabilities.
