 the DNA circle Name is Georg August Wilhelm Freund, (1817-1874), My 3Anderson Pleasant Vernon “was born on January 6, 1823, in Monroe, Tennessee, his father, Miles, was 36 and his mother, Ann, was 35. He was married three times and had 14 sons and six daughters. He died on December 25, 1900, in Lakeview, Oregon, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in New Pine Creek, Oregon.

The same goes for my 3rd great grandmother his wife, Merrie”Mary” Freund, (Born 1817), 3r Dollie Grace Leathers “was born on July 14, 1832, in Toone, Tennessee, her father, James, was 41, and her mother, Dorthy, was 39. She had two sons and one daughter from one relationship. She then married Anderson Pleasant Vernon and they had 13 children together. She also had one son with Anderson Perry Vernon. She died on October 11, 1917, in Lakeview, Oregon, having lived a long life of 85 years, and was buried in New Pine Creek, Oregon.

 My 3rd great grandparents would have been around for the death of President Abraham Lincoln, the leadership of a nation broken and bruised by years of Civil War fell on the shoulders of Vice President Andrew Johnson. Johnson received word in the early morning hours of April 15, 1865, that the office of president now fell to him and that an inauguration should quickly occur. Welcoming the nation’s chief justice and other government officials into his room at the Kirkwood House hotel in Washington, D.C., Johnson took the oath of office, becoming the 17th President of the United States at 10:00 that same morning. “Gentlemen,” he remarked, “I shall lean upon you; I feel that I shall need your support[.] I am deeply impressed with the solemnity of the occasion and the responsibility of the duties of the office I am assuming.” President Johnson retained the existing cabinet members and set to work on reconstruction.
